Traditional Way of Selling Wireless Access Points
Until the TAG WatchGuard Program, it was difficult for a Partner to provide a true Wireless Access Point
as-a-Service with WatchGuard. WatchGuard Partners had to purchase hardware and a multi-year license
up front, then take the risk to provide access points to their customer on a monthly basis.
As a result, end users typically pay the partner cash, or on occasion the partner puts the access point on
a lease, making it challenging to incorporate into a recurring managed service program that is beneficial
for the WatchGuard Partner and their end user.
New Program from TAG and WatchGuard – Wireless Access Points-as-a-Service
TAG and WatchGuard created an innovative program enabling WatchGuard Partners to bring
WatchGuard wireless access points on a monthly recurring revenue basis for the Partner with NO capital
outlay for Partner or their customer.
Below is a description of how the TAG WatchGuard WAP-as-a-Service works...
WAP-as-a-Service
- Partner purchases WAPs from TAG on a wholesale basis
- Hardware and License rolled into single monthly wholesale price
- You set the price to your end user
- No upfront purchase of hardware or license for the Partner or the end user
Monthly Program Benefits
- True WAP-as-a-Service recurring revenue program
- Month-to-month to the Partner, and may be sold as such to their end user
- No minimum term, no liability to WatchGuard Partner if customer terminates service or goes out of
business
- Units can be cancelled, upgraded, or downgraded at any time
- In event of cancellation the WatchGuard Partner shall return hardware to TAG
- All purchases count toward Partner's total WatchGuard volume
- WatchGuard One discounts will apply towards wholesale price
- Program is evergreen – no expiration date, or license renewals to manage. Unit stays in field,
generating recurring revenue, until customer cancellation or replacement required.
